About Triple Cord Midwifery
Nicole Gawel, LM
It all began with a dream. No, really. I was in the field of Education and Psychology for many years before discovering Midwifery. With each of my own childbirth experiences, I learned more about the process and grew increasingly passionate about the field.
In 2018, I became a Certified Birth Doula through DONA International and went on to attend over 200 births in local hospitals, homes, and birth centers across Southwest Florida (SWFL). I have also been a childbirth educator through the Family Birth Center of Naples for the past 4 years.
After one long birth in particular, a local midwife sat me down and shared a dream she had of me "catching babies." That conversation became a turning point for me. I realized that providing high-quality Midwifery care in SWFL was my true calling and that everyone deserves well-supported births. The very next day, I enrolled in school and began my journey toward becoming a midwife.
In 2022, I attended a three-year entry-level Midwifery program at the International Institute of Health Care Professionals in Boca Raton, FL. I graduated in 2024, earning credentials as a Certified Professional Midwife and a Licensed Midwife in the state of Florida.
I am a proud mama of three children, Hunter, Grady, and Beau, each with unique birth stories of their own. I have been married to my husband, Evan, for 12 years, and we reside in Fort Myers, FL along with our two Goldendoodles, Toby and Patsy.
